One Riff One Day
Watch the lesson. Then play.
Today’s practice: three slow chord changes to try alongside my latest short lesson.
A real lesson. From the person behind the app.
I’ll show you.
Then it’s your turn.
Here is my short lesson on “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door”. Watch it, pause it and try it slowly. You do not need to join the email list to watch.
After the video, try today’s chord-change practice. If something is unclear, tell me which part is difficult — that is useful feedback for my next lesson.
Your ten-minute plan
Three changes. One steady pulse.
- 01Watch & tune · 2 minutes. Watch my short lesson above. Tune to E A D G B E and check the chord shapes you already know.
- 02G → D · 2 minutes. Set the metronome to 60 BPM. Strum G on beat one, count to four, then play D on the next beat one. Repeat slowly.
- 03G → Am · 2 minutes. Use the same four-beat space. Aim for a clean landing, not a fast change. Leave the low E string out of Am.
- 04G → C · 2 minutes. Repeat one strum per bar. Leave the low E string out of C. If the sound buzzes, check each string separately.
- 05Play & reflect · 2 minutes. Repeat the change you found hardest. Write one small improvement, or send me the exact question you want help with.
This is an original chord-change drill to use alongside the video, not a note-for-note song transcription. The video is the reference for the song demonstration. Use the chord guide if you need the shapes.
Make time for today’s exercise

Today’s checklist
Checks stay in this browser for today. They are separate from progress in Guitar Studio.
Keep a gentle pulse
Simple metronome
Start slow. The first beat has a higher click; there are four beats in a bar. Start audio at a comfortable device volume.
Audio starts only when you press the button and stops when the page is hidden.
