One Riff One Day

A useful note. One small thing to try.

See what the free One Riff One Day practice newsletter is for before you subscribe.

What you can expect

My short guitar lessons, practice ideas, answers to recurring questions and updates about Guitar Studio. The newsletter is written for people who want a manageable next step, rather than a long list of things to learn.

How often?

Emails are occasional. There is no guaranteed daily sequence or fixed delivery schedule. One Riff One Day describes a practice habit; it does not mean we will email every day.

EXAMPLE PRACTICE NOTE · ONE RIFF ONE DAY
Subject: Two chords. One small win.

Today’s small practice

Give Em → Am five minutes.

Set a slow pulse. Play Em on beat one, count to four, then land on Am. Let the other beats give you time to move.

  1. Pick each chord string by string.
  2. Try four calm changes at 55 BPM.
  3. Finish by playing the pair with a steady downstroke.

One thing to notice: does the high e string ring clearly in Am?

A sample practice note: one small exercise, a clear starting point and something to listen for.
